• Made from 65% recycled paper

    • Truly sustainable material

  • Standard Masonry CMU construction

    • Every bricklayer knows how to build with this product

    • quickly installed with standard building skills

    • cuts with a chainsaw

  • Twice the strength of cinder blocks (3000 psi)

    • Designed to hurricane strength and building standards

  • One third the weight of cinder blocks

    • Blox will float in water!

    • Easily shipped anywhere in the world

  • R25 Insulation values (3.2 R per inch)

    • does not act as a heat or cold reservoir

  • No oil based Polystyrene walls or fillers

    • High quality cellulose breaths without out-gassing or emitting CFCs or HCFCs

  • Back filled with Blox cellulose mixture to create a monolithic wall

    • Cells in CinderBlox are filled with the cellulose mixture that compose the CinderBlox themselves.  This results is a solid, one substance wall

    • Most competitors must fill voids with concrete for structural strength

    • Most competitors that fill honeycomb voids with concrete greatly reduce their insulation value

  • Non-combustible

    • withstands burns from an acetylene torch

  • Water, mold resistant

    • Floats and has water characteristics equal to a standard cinderblock

  • Ballistic resistant

    • Unlike Polystyrene or Concrete based systems Blox can absorb blows from sledge hammers and high power rifle shots

  • Termite/rodent resistant

  • No specialized Technical Support or Engineering needed

  • Excellent sound insulation and noise abatement

  • Screw directly into the wall with standard wood screws

  • Reduced materials cost for building

  • LEED Credits

What are green building products? In making building products greener, the goal is to reduce the use and impact materials can have on the environment throughout the building life cycle. Blox Building Systems is proud to offer a Patent pending building Blox like no other. Our Greenstar Blox ™ are an energy efficient and environmentally friendly building material comprised from recycled short-fiber cellulose (newspapers, phone books, and lotto tickets), cementitious materials, water, and a curing agents organic ad-mixture.

"We don't just use any paper. We prefer a special blend of recycled newspapers, lottery tickets, office documents, and phone books for all of our products, during both manufacturing of and construction with our Blox. We have replaced aggregates normally found in concrete with our gradations of cellulose fibers to form a material with high insulating and structural characteristics." - Zach Rabon

The advantages of using Blox Building Systems are numerous. The simplicity of masonry construction is only topped with the use of light weight materials. Our Greenstar Blox ™ come in a CMU  CinderBlox ™ (8" x 8" x 16") and an Adobe style (10" x 14" x 4") which weigh only 8 pounds. Greenstar Blox ™ will double and even triple the R-values of conventional wood frame construction. The customer sees this in their annual energy savings.

The goal of Blox Building Systems is to minimize the impact that materials have on the environment throughout the building life-cycle; including construction, operation, possible renovation, and eventual demolition by using a salvaged waste material, conserving natural resources, and encouraging a more efficient lifestyle.

More about Blox

Blox has a superior compression strength that was tested against other concrete masonry units by Arizona State University. Blox load bearing psi was found to be 3,000 psi compared to standard 1900 psi for masonry requirements.

Texas Tech University, PSI, Omega Point Laboratories
are other facilities conducting tests pertaining to compressive strength, insulation and fire ratings, moisture absorbency, and wind load tolerances.

Blox Building Systems is leading the charge with the International Code Council to set standards for this type of construction material. The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and National Fire Safety Rating Systems (NFRS) both have standards that our Blox will exceed in present and future testing.
